   Come see the underwater beauty of Mactan and its sister Islands,  With over 18 years as an experienced PADI certified Divemaster,  we will do our best as your guide, to give you a *safe and enjoyable diving experience on our favorite shore and boat diving locations.
  Not yet a scuba diver?  In association with Mactan Scuba Dive Center, all levels of PADI dive training is available.  Being properly trained and certified in Scuba Diving will allow you to explore the underwater world with the confidence and the experience that only a safely trained diver has.  Advanced courses are also available.  Please note that we only accept those persons who have recieved proper training from any of the SCUBA certifying organizations.

  For you Reef Aquarium Hobbyists, why not take a vacation that is tailored to your interests? I can ensure that you are able to fully explore the various habitats first hand and learn of reef ecology allowing you to take home a much greater understanding of what the word "reef" truly entails.  Snorkel through seagrass and macroalgae habitats and see what live rock and live sand is truly all about.  Dive on the coral reefs and explore the multitudes of life forms found and see first hand the conditions the various corals are found in.  Unlike other dive operations, I can tailor your underwater experience to focus on the reef's biology allowing you to go home with a much greater understanding and appreciation for the reefs in our living rooms.

  Located on the shores of Marigondon (next to the Plantation Bay resort).  A very short swim/snorkel of only 30 meters will find you above one of the best shore based living locations on Mactan Island.  This protected reef zone begins at a depth of 8 meters and slopes gently downwards to the Reef Wall,  a sheer vertical drop off covered in Corals and other marine life.  During gentle tidal flows, you can swim easily along the wall stopping to take in the views only to have the currents carry you gently back to where you started, making this location one of the safest, and easiest shore dives on the Island. A hot lunch and cold drinks are part of the package and served in a shaded "native" beach front area. All personal property left on shore will be watched over and kept secure.  Please call to make arrangements for any non-diving spouses, children or guests.  Please note that since this is a shore based dive, the diving conditions are subject to the tidal flows, which at times can be very strong and unsuitable for shore based diving.

Marigondon Reef Wall - Shore Diving




  With numerous outlying islands surrounded with protected marine reserves, the opportunities to explore some of the Philippine's most pristine coral reefs is nearly boundless. The eastern coastline of Mactan Island and nearby Olango Island offers very accessible and diverse diving conditions. Only 15 minutes away from the Cebu International Airport there is no lengthy travel time to get to your hotel and be ready to go diving. All of the local dive sites offer exciting "drop-offs" that descend from a depth of about 10 meters down to about 50 meters in one near-vertical wall. Each dive site offers diving conditions that range from beginner to highly advanced, all less than an hour away by boat. With the underwater landscapes offering such diverse scenery and water depths, it is common to see snorkelers enjoying  the shallow reefs with scuba divers only meters away enjoying the deeper drop off areas.

    This island resort is surrounded by some of the most pristine coral reefs to be found in the local area and is a favorite amongst divers and snorkelors. As a marine nature reserve, the protection provided to the area ensures that the reefs will be with us for many years to come.  As is typical for all the surrounding islands, it is surrounded by a sheer vertical drop off that allows divers to enjoy their sport while in full view of snorkelors enjoying the very nearby shallow reefs.  The local fish populations are very accustomed to divers and will approach very closely looking for a food hand out.

   Located only minutes away from Nalusuan island, Hilutungan island also provides divers with many good reefs. With its reef wall beginning at about twenty feet deep it is a favorite amongst open water divers as you can sit on the edge and watch the fish pass by while having plenty of bottom time to truly enjoy the show.  I consider this island's reef a "must see" stop during island hopping excursions.

  Begin a new life long hobby and enjoy the many adventures that only scuba diving can provide.  As a PADI dive student, you will learn the required safety techniques and gain the experience needed to safely and comfortably enjoy your future scuba diving adventures.  In association with PADI Dive Instructor, Jens Hoffman, we are pleased to be able to provide you with quality, safe dive training with Charles Raabe acting as your training Divemaster. As your Divemaster, I will do my best at all times to ensure your personal safety and that you feel comfortable and secure while you are in a student status.   OPEN WATER DIVE TRAINING -  This is a 3 day course.  Your first day will begin with a few hours of classroom training ending with your very first dive into shallow (2 meters), confined water where you will demonstrate and practice some of the safety skills needed to become a safe, certified diver.  Your second day will begin with a short classroom presentation and two additional shallow water dives, again demonstrating the safety skills that you are being taught.  Your third and last day will be the most fun!  We take you out on the boat to a beautifull protected shallow water reef where you will again demonstrate the last skills required for certification. Each of the two boat dives, once you have gone through your skills, will conclude with what we like to call "fun diving", this is simply allowing you to swim along the reef and enjoy your new found skills as a scuba diver while accompanied by two highly trained and experienced divers.
  Please note that you do not have to schedule all three days in a row.  Your dive training can be scheduled around your work or school schedules, we will make every attempt to accomodate your needs.

P.A.D.I. OPEN WATER DIVE TRAINING = P 14,000 PER PERSON








  P.A.D.I.  BubbleMaker -  Geared towards children 8 years old and above to give them their first experience in scuba diving.  All dives are conducted under the strict supervision (one on one) with a DiveMaster at depths no greater than six feet (two meters) deep.  There is no pre-training required and the kids do not have to be super swimmers in order to participate.
  This is a great way to include the little ones into a family diving vacation allowing them to also go home with exciting memories and tales to tell their friends.   Your little BubbleMakers are free of dive charges as it is our pleasure to ensure that everyone has the chance to enjoy our beautifull reefs. 







 
   ADVANCED DIVE TRAINING -  As an experienced open water diver, you can now continue your dive training and begin to explore even more opportunities for your diving adventures.  As an advanced dive student you have multiple choices of specialized courses to make up your training tailored to what interests you.  This is a two day course and again, each day can be scheduled to suit your needs.

P.A.D.I. ADVANCED DIVE TRAINING = P 13,000 PER PERSON
   
  As the sun sets, you don your dive gear, slip on your mask and bite down on your regulator. A deep breath and you step off into the underwater night. Although you may have seen a particular reef many times before, this time you drop into a whole new world and watch it come to life under the glow of your dive light.  As part of your advanced training, night diving brings an entirely new aspect to our hobby and is personaly one of my favorite scuba activities.  Included into your advanced training, you will also learn underwater navigation with the use of a compass along with various search patterns used in locating specific locations or missing items and deep diving, those dives that take you below your open water limit of 60 feet. These are but a few of the options available to you as part of your tailored made dive training.




   RESCUE DIVE TRAINING -  As an experienced advanced open water diver, you can now continue your dive training even further and learn to not only be of aid to yourself, but to others as well.  While our sport is a safe one, it does have its inherant dangers and through your becoming a certified rescue diver you will have the skills required that enable you to take action should something ever go wrong.  This is a two day course and can be scheduled to suit your needs.

P.A.D.I. ADVANCED DIVE TRAINING = P 10,000 PER PERSON

  Rescue Divers learn to look beyond themselves and consider the safety and well being of other divers. Although this course is challenging, it is a rewarding way to build your confidence. Rescue Diver training will prepare you to prevent problems and, if necessary, manage dive emergencies. Many divers say this is the best course they’ve ever taken.  During your training you will learn the techniques for self rescue and diver stress, emergency managment and its equipment, panicked diver response, In-water recue breathing protocols and dive accident scenarios.
